The Clay Wattle, Acacia glaucoptera, is an interesting, very ornamental wattle. I find it hard to grow but I saw a magnificent specimen in the Geelong Botanic Gardens, perhaps it likes a slightly warmer climate.

This wattle has phyllodes which are stems or stalks of leaves which are modified to act as leaves and the flowers appear along the phyllode.

Look Out for the Emu (Bush)

Looking at some photos recently I came across one from a conference about Australian Native Plants I attended in Adelaide about this time 2 years ago. This emu was on display made from the foliage and flowers of eremophilas, commonly known as emu bush. Continue reading
